“ Really not what I was expecting. First impressions as I walked in was I've definitely booked the wrong place for a work meal, but the servers were amazing, really attentive and super friendly. The food was epic and the drinks selection was brilliant, they dont have beers in tap, but offer bottles and have a large wine selection, they also have only 3 spirits, gin vodka amd whosky. The decor is great, purposefully old school with a posh, but laid back sort of vibe. Had a lovely meal here, I will be coming back. ”
“ First time I tried food here and it was good, the salmon starter was very generous and the main(yes did double salmon) was also good and very filling. When we went they didn’t have gf pasta but they usually do. The other mains looked good too. The service from the staff felt like we should be paying more ”
“ After a curry elsewhere, we dropped into The Boot & Flogger at around 8pm. We found a table for 4 in a quiet corner and were soon approached by a friendly member of staff who took our order. We went for a couple of bottles of their red wine, which were reasonably priced and very tasty. We have been before, and we will go again. ”
“ An oasis of old-fashioned charm a few steps away from the manic bustle of Borough Market with such extremely superior Truffled Mac and Cheese, that it is worth crossing London for, and it was only a side dish. After a rather frantic shopping spree at the market, it was a pleasure to spend two hours of ease and replenishment in the cool, panelled dining rooms. The fish and chips were crisp and fresh, the wine list excellent (though I would expect that from Davys of London wine merchants who own the joint) and the atmosphere a delight. It's a hidden gem, tucked down a side street opposite CrossBones graveyard, now a garden and shrine to the 1500 paupers and sex workers who were buried for centuries. I'll pop in for a drink next time I'm in the area, they also hold wine tastings which are sure to be fun. ”
